Product Review : Jamaican Black Castor Oil (JBCO)

Hi Glam Royals,

I hope you guys are doing great. I’m doing alright, myself. Earlier in the year, I made a decision to start taking better care of my hair. So, I’ve been reading a lot of hair articles, watching hair videos and following quite a number of hair bloggers on Instagram. They say and show that relaxed hair too can grow and it gives me so much hope…hehe. Anyhoo, they (hair bloggers) use and have a lot of hair products in common. One of such products is the Jamaican Black Castor Oil also called JBCO. The Jamaican Black Castor Oil is a holy grail for all hair bloggers/lovers/enthusiasts. Having read a lot about it, I decided to get a bottle and give it a try

As you know, I do most of my beauty shopping on Amazon because I also buy products to retail here. I got an 80z bottle of Jamaican oil about 2months ago and I think now is the best time to share my review with you…

Jamaican Black Castor Oil (JBCO) Review

Packaging : It comes in a brown transparent bottle with white cap.

Formula: The Jamaican Black Castor Oil has a thick formula. It is dark-colored and has a strong smell.

How I Use: I pour a little quantity on my palm, add a bit of carrot oil, massage into my scalp and my hair ends.

Pros:

  • The Jamaican Black Castor Oil easily absorbs into the scalp.
  • It adds beautiful shine to my hair.
  • It can be used for various skin and hair conditions like acne treatment, eyelash and brow growth etc.
  • It makes my hair soft.
  • It regrows edges and thickens hair.
  • it also prevents hair breakage.

Cons:

  • The only con is the smell which fades off after a while. It doesn’t bother me much but be prepared for that roasted -nut smell every time you want to use it.

Overall, I love the Jamaican Black Castor Oil. It makes my hair shine and keeps my scalp moisturized all day. I have experienced less scalp itching since I started using it. I have braids on now and all I need to do is mix it with hair serum and massage well into my scalp and on my edges every morning. It’s a great buy and suitable for all hair types. I got an 80z bottle on Amazon for about $10 but you can buy it here in Lagos at any hair store for 3,200naira. Do you use the Jamaican Black Castor Oil? How do you like it?

Hugs and Kisses,

Missglam.

  • I love the Jamaican black castor oil anytime any day. i actually got mine from Allure beauty store on Opebi.

They are bond breakers of Natural hair products and pricing is very attractive.

They are also available online http://www.allure.com.ng

  • Coconut oil is the new sexy… lol. I bought a big Eva water bottle size from Ghana for #1000 since last year.
    JBCO is good too.
    Does Amazon.com ship to nigeria?

    • Hahahaa…I know right! I need some in my life. Well, Amazon doesn’t ship directly to Nigeria, so I use a cargo company for shipping.
