Banish Starter Kit Review

Hi darlings,

So, a little over a month ago, I received a blogger mail from Banish, a US Based company that specialises in natural and organic products aimed at tackling skin problems. They sent me the Banish Starter Kit which contained; Banish Oil, Vitamin C Beauty Elixir, Aloe Vera Oil, Pumpkin Enzyme Masque, Activated Charcoal Clay Masque, Pore Smasher, 2 Banishers, a Banish Bag and Plastic Cleaning Container (all shown in my previous Instagram post). The kit also has a user guide with instructions which come in handy.

While unboxing the package on Instagram and Snapchat, I promised to do a review post after using the products for 3-4 weeks and the time has finally come! šŸ™‚ . According to Banish, the Starter Kit helps with acne, acne scars, hyperpigmentation, textured skin, large pores, fine lines and wrinkles. This is going to be a long and unusual review post, so sit back, relax and enjoy!

Alright, before they sent me the package, I was asked to check out their website to see products that I would like to try. The Pumpkin Enzyme Masque was the one product I looked forward to using. So, you can imagine my excitement when it came with it. I won’t bore you with packaging details of each of the items as the oils, elixir and masques all come in glass bottles and jars respectively.

Banish Activated Charcoal Clay Masque

The Masques : These are my favourites of all the products. I really like how easy it is, to apply the Activated Charcoal Clay Masque and the way it thoroughly cleans my skin. The Pumpkin Enzyme Masque brightens my face immediately after use. It has a tingly feeling when applied at first but that slowly fades away after a few minutes. The Pumpkin E. Masque smells like Avocado pear and that’s another reason why I’m into it šŸ˜€ .

The Banishers : There are two Banishers in the set; the Banisher Roller and Stamp. The Banishers have pin-like bristles and are used gently on the skin to create micro holes which heal when the skin produces new collagen and elastin. They simply create holes that allow products penetrate better into the skin. Imagine rolling or stamping tiny needles on your face…yep, that’s the way they feel on the face. I’ve used the Roller and it didn’t hurt as much as some other users claimed but once a product goes on the skin after the banisher, please be prepared for lots of tingly feeling that could last for 30 minutes or more. The user guide provides a very detailed instruction on how to use them.

The Pore Smasher : This is used all over the face to reduce puffiness, redness and constrict pores. It’s also used to prep the skin for the banisher. It’s actually placed in the refrigerator to allow it cool before use. Honestly, I didn’t quite see the importance of this product in the routine but I felt cool using it…haha.

The Oils and Beauty Elixir : The Banish Oil and Vitamin C Beauty Elixir were okay for me. I use the Elixir to refresh my face in the morning and before going to bed at night. I’m quite sensitive to smell and the Aloe Vera Oil didn’t have a pleasant one. The first time I applied it, I couldn’t sleep cos the smell kept getting to me šŸ™ . So, that was the beginning/end of the journey with the Aloe Vera Oil. After a while, I noticed that I wasn’t quite comfortable with any oil at all on my face at night, so I had to stick to using the Banish Oil in the mornings only.

Overall, I really like the fact that these Banish Acne Scars products are organic and natural which makes them very safe to use on all skin types. They are also fantastic because they are targeted at acne-prone skin. As mentioned earlier, my favourite of the products are the Activated Charcoal Clay and Pumpkin Enzyme Masques. My acne scars have started to fade off gradually, my face looks a little lighter and feels softer. I’ll definitely continue to use the products to achieve maximum results. The Banish Starter Kit costs $263 and is on sale now for $195. The price of this kit is quite steep considering the organic nature of the products but if you don’t mind splurging on some good food for your skin, you should totally try them.
