Urban Skin Rx Cleansing Bar – Review

I started using the Urban Skin Rx Cleansing Bar last year and shared a picture on Instagram. At the time, quite a number of people were raving about them, so I thought to try out the travel sized Even Tone Cleansing Bar. So I wasn’t sure of what to expect and didn’t want to spend too much money on a product that may end up not living to the hype. According to Urban Skin Rx, The 3-in-1 Even Tone Cleansing Bar is a complexion perfecting cleansing treatment that improves the appearance of uneven skin tone and dark marks. Here’s my review :

Packaging : It comes in a jar with one or more facial sponges depending on the size of the bar.

Urban Skin Rx Even Tone Cleansing Bar

Formula : The Urban Skin Rx Even Tone Cleansing Bar is solid brown in colour. It has a light tea tree and licorice smell. Key Ingredients include Kojic Acid, Azelaic Acid, Niacinamide &Licorice Root. Full Ingredient List : Cocos Nucifera (coconut) Oil, Hydrogenated Palm Kernel Oil, Carthamus Tinctorius (safflower) Seed Oil, Glycerin, Sodium Hydroxide Lye, d-glucitol, Propylene Glycol, Sorbitan Oleate, Witch Hazel, Kojic Acid, Azelaic Acid, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Extract, Black Tea, Hydrolyzed Soy Protein, Camphor, Niacinamide, Calcium Ascorbate, Glucosamine HCL, Sodium Lactate, Tannis, Urea, Alpha Arbutin, Gluthathione, Retinyl Palmitate.

How I Use It : I moisten the sponge with water and rub across the bar to create a lather. Then, gently massage on my face using small circular motions and allow the lather to remain on the face for one to two minutes. Lastly, I rinse thoroughly with water and gently pat my skin dry.

Urban Skin Rx Even Tone Cleansing Bar

Pros :

  • It is a 3-in-1 product; works as a daily cleanser, mask and exfoliator.
  • Promotes a brighter, healthier and more even complexion.
  • Fantastic for all skin types.
  • Price point is quite reasonable.
  • Very easy to carry around.
  • It works.

Cons :

  • None but I wish there was a back to Urban Skin Rx program…haha.

Overall, my skin reacted to it at first but I was patient unlike so many people I know…lol (no, this is not a shade 😀 ). In fact, I quickly realized that my skin was actually purging and waited it out. Guess what? I was right and the cleansing bar actually worked. It cleared out my skin, reduced acne spots and evened my complexion…no jokes!

The Urban Skin Rx Cleansing Bar comes in ; Even Tone (all skin types), Clear Skin (oily and blemish prone skin), Combination Skin (all skin types, especially dry and oily combination skin) Bars and I’ve been switching between the even tone and clear skin bars. They both work just fine for my skin but I actually chose to write about the even tone. That’s because the clear skin bar is almost out and I’m switching back to even tone. Hope that makes sense.. lol. Although, the 1oz lasted about 3-4 weeks, the 2oz size lasts about 6-8 weeks or more depending on how frequently you use it. So, you might want to get either the 2oz or the 3.7oz size to get more value for money. They are available for purchase in different sizes here.

Have you used any of the Urban Skin Rx Cleansing Bars? How do you like them?

Hugs and Kisses,
